Fighter Pilots and Leaders                     1-Day Seminar

fighter_pilot_helmet

When people think of “fighter pilots” they think of men (and now women) who do amazing feats of daring: flying at ungodly speeds, chasing enemy planes from the sky, flying close to the ground faster than a speeding bullet. Yes, fighter pilots can, and do perform these exploits on a regular basis, without fear or trepidation. But the question most people ask is: “How do they do it?” Perhaps the real question to ask is: “Why do they do it?”

There is a remarkable similarity between fighter pilots and good leaders. How each one prepares for their roles in their professional life is strikingly comparable. How they learn, teach, plan, act and react to diverse situations is extremely similar.

In this presentation, through real-life examples, Ken goes about the business of explaining how and why fighter pilots become whom they are and how they continue to improve. Comparing those experiences with “real world business situations,” Ken emphasizes some traits and characteristics today’s supervisors and managers will find remarkably similar and very interesting.  There are lessons to be learned from the fighter pilot world that will benefit anyone seeking to be a better leader. Wouldn’t it be great if you had a group of people with “fighter pilot attitudes” and capabilities working for you?

The course covers the following comparisons (not in this order):
